Artifact 3: EAD 801 Self Reflection
Standards: 3, 4, 6
Goals: 3
This self reflection is from EAD 801, Leadership and Organizational Development. The reflection paper detailed my past organization and the challenges faced within the organization. For this artifact I viewed my fourth grade classroom as the organization. In the first part I identified my part in the problem. Next, I identified my loyalties. My loyalties are the different components of the school that pull me in various ways. Lastly, I diagnosed the role I play in the organization and how I can use my strengths to make progress toward the adaptive challenge.
Artifact 3 ties strongly to standard 6 of the MATC program. Standard 6 describes a professional who seeks professional development and attempts to reach students and efforts outside of the classroom.
This artifact is essential to my portfolio because it marks the point where I was truly inspired to make think about where I fit into my school. It allowed me to think how I could best serve my students and my building using my strengths. I was able to think about my life outside of the classroom and as a leader. I’ve joined more committees in my school and have served an active role as a teacher leader in various ways in our building.
